Felix Malnig
LANDMARKS
Either riding his bike or walking, Felix Malnig explores the surrounding landscape. Modern manmade landmarks like silos, ski lifts, wind generators or highways dominate his landscape paintings. He focuses on structures, which other people tend to ignore – often even while using them. For example, we see a series of paintings depicting silos, which are typical for Lower Austria, where the artist comes from. As a contrast he shows works, which he has produced in the first week of his residency at the ÖKKV: A ski jump, the Varvsberget and a seascape. All Paintings are acrylic and spray paint on canvas. In addition Felix shows some photographs, which he will use as an inspiration for further paintings later on during the rest of his stay in Örnsköldsvik.
